Aja Naomi King To Star In ‘Grosse Pointe Garden Society’ NBC Pilot

EXCLUSIVE: How To Get Away With Murder alumna Aja Naomi King is returning to broadcast as a lead opposite Melissa Fumero, AnnaSophia Robb and Ben Rappaport in Grosse Pointe Garden Society, NBC‘s drama pilot from Jenna Bans, Bill Krebs and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The drama follows four members of a suburban garden club — Birdie (Fumero), Alice (Robb), Brett (Rappaport) and Catherine (King) — all from different walks of life, who get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom.

King’s Catherine is an unhappily married mother of two younger children, a realtor and active member of the Garden Society who works off some of her loneliness with a very juicy secret.

The pilot’s series regular cast also includes Matthew Davis and Alexander Hodge.

Maggie Kiley is directing the pilot, which she is executive producing with Bans via her Minnesota Logging Co., Krebs and Casey Kyber.

King, who starred as Michaela Pratt on How To Get Away With Murder for the series’ six-season run on ABC, recently played a main role opposite Brie Larson and Lewis Pullman in Apple TV+’s limited series Lessons In Chemistry, earning Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series nominations at the Critics Choice Awards and the NAACP Image Awards. King, whose feature credits include Sylvie’s Love, The 24th and A Little White Lie, is repped by Gersh, Door 24 and Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern.
