Airport cleaner detained for carrying 734 cigarette lighters when attempting to board high-speed train in China

An airport cleaner was detained on December 26 for carrying 734 lighters when attempting to board a high-speed train in southern China. The woman was taken away by police for further questioning after she was found to be carrying 734 lighters during security checks at the Guiyang Railway Station. Passengers are only allowed to carry two lighters each. After questioning it was revealed the woman was an airport cleaner who had amassed the discarded lighters during her work. She was hoping to sell them in her hometown. In accordance with the local law, the woman was detained for five days and the lighters were confiscated.
