Aircraft Deployed as Industrial Fire Destroys Lumber Mill in California's Amador County

An industrial fire largely destroyed the lumber mill where it erupted in California’s Amador County on July 25, officials said.

This time lapse footage shows firefighting aircraft flying over the blaze as large smoke plumes emanate from the Ampine timber mill in Martell.

According to the Amador County Sheriff’s Office the fire was still burning as of 5 pm local time, but all vegetation spot fires were contained.

“It appears Ampine is a total loss, " the Sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

The Amador County fire department said one firefighter was injured and was “transported for precautionary purposes with a minor injury”. Credit: ALERTWildfire via Storyful
