Aircraft Deployed in Fight to Contain Costa del Sol Fire

Several aircraft have been deployed in an attempt to contain a wildfire that has burned more than 7,400 hectares (about 29 square miles) of forest near the village of Jubrique in Spain’s western Costa del Sol.

This video taken on September 12 shows the aircraft fighting the blaze, which started in Sierra Bermeja national park, in Malaga province, on September 8.

Hundreds of personnel and dozens of aircraft, including some from the Spanish air force, have been deployed to fight the blaze, according to INFOCA.

One firefighter died last week fighting the blaze, El Pais reported, and two more were injured on Sunday. Around 3,000 people have so far been evacuated from several municipalities in the area, according to reports. Credit: Spanish Air Force via Storyful
