The Four Seasons in New York is offering free rooms to medical workers. TV shows like Grey's Anatomy are donating medical supplies from their sets to (real) hospitals. Many companies have pitched in to make masks. Times are challenging, but fortunately some big name brands and companies are able to step up to the plate. Among them is Airbnb, which is working to provide COVID-19 responders with lodging during this time.

Airbnb announced that it will be vetting its hosts in order to provide 100,000 healthcare providers, relief workers, and first responders with free or subsidized places to stay. Not only is the company aiming to provide these healthcare workers with places convenient to their patients, but also their own family. Airbnb's has partnered with The International Rescue Committee, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, International Medical Corps, and other non-profit organizations in this effort. COVID-19 responders associated with these organizations will be prioritized in getting housing.

Here's where you can help: To accommodate all these workers, Airbnb is looking for hosts to offer up their spaces. Hosts can choose to either list their place for free, but if they cannot, Airbnb will waive all fees. Hosts must also adhere to a list of strict cleaning and safety protocols created by medical professionals in order to protect guests. Lastly, hosts can only list entire places with no people present, to allow COVID-19 responders a safe place to stay. You can list your place here.

If you can’t host but want to help, Airbnb is also collecting donations here. These donations will be going directly to Airbnb's partner organizations to help with COVID-19 relief efforts. And if you are a first responder, you can contact Airbnb here for housing help. However, Airbnb writes that it is currently prioritizing first responders who are working with its partner organizations.
