Air Supply Hose Pops Loose During Ohio Deputies' Scuba Dive Training

While training in a quarry in the Columbus, Ohio, area, a deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Dive Unit unexpectedly provided his fellow officers with a teachable moment when his air-supply hose came loose, the office said on November 6.

The deputies were 20 feet underwater practicing switching from their primary air source to a backup bottle, they said, when one officer’s air hose popped loose and the primary air tank started to empty.

“Everyone worked together to shut down the primary tank and surface safely,” the sheriff’s office said. Credit: Franklin County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
