Air quality has hit very unhealthy or hazardous levels for parts of Oregon, data showed, as the state deals with what Gov Kate Brown has called an unprecedented fire event.
Residents have been advised to take precautions to avoid being affected by the smoke, local media said.
Brown has invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act for the state of Oregon, allowing the state fire marshal to assist local firefighting departments with resources.
