Christian rocker Cory Asbury tells Taste of Country that he had been cast for Season 6 as a long-lost brother of Kayce Dutton’s (and, presumably, Beth and Jamie’s as well). “I was fired up about it and so bummed when it was cancelled,” he says. “So bummed.”

The singer/songwriter’s family was on board with the gig, too, even though it meant moving to Big Sky Country for a full year. Wife “Anna gave me the OK,” he disclosed on the Dutton Rules podcast, “and our kids were like, ‘OK, cool, we’ll live in Montana.’”
Not until after halfway through Yellowstone’s Season 5 was the decision made to take Taylor Sheridan’s megahit to the train station. The back half of the season, including the series finale, will start airing in November 2024.
Mind you, that will in no way, shape or form be the end of the franchise. In the works are two new spinoffs, 1944 and 2024, the latter of which is set to star Matthew McConaughey.
