Afghan Evacuees Arrive at Air Base in New Mexico

Afghan evacuees have been landing at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, as part of efforts to remove thousands of civilians following the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, footage released on September 2 shows.

The arrivals were greeted by Joint Task Force-Holloman personnel as they disembarked the aircraft, with personnel holding signs saying “We wish you success” and “We are happy to see you.”

According to a statement from the air base, evacuees landed there as part of Operation Allies Welcome which officials said aims to provide transportation, temporary housing, and medical screening for those who have been evacuated from Afghanistan.
