Aedy Ashraf files police reports over impostor scamming women

27 Jun – Aedy Ashraf recently revealed that he has lodged a police report, after finding out that an irresponsible individual has been catfishing women using his name.

On 25 June, Aedy shared a screenshot of his report, revealing that he found out that a person has been emailing four different women using a fake email (aedyashrafx@gmail.com), with one of the women already given her address to the perpetrator.

Aedy, in his report, also stated that he decided to go to the police to ensure that his personal information will not be misused by irresponsible parties.

"A police report has been lodged regarding sending out emails purportedly from me," he wrote in the caption. "I would like to make it clear that that is not my email address and remind everyone to please be aware."

Speaking to Harian Metro, Aedy said that one of the women who was emailed by the said perpetrator has even been in contact with him or her for two weeks.

"The person even dared to ask these women out. One of the women even gave the impostor her address," he said.

Aedy stressed that the email does not belong to him and reminds the public to be more careful of such deceptions.
