Adibah Noor was supposed to record a jazz album, says Datuk Mokhzani
21 Jun - Music conductor and composer Datuk Mokhzani Ismail recently expressed his sadness over the missed opportunity of working with the beloved singer Adibah Noor, who passed away last weekend.
The composer, who spoke to Astro AWANI recently, shared that the two of them previously discussed about producing a Big Band jazz album together.
"I agreed to produce it with five songs, since it's been a while since we had a Big Band jazz release. Adibah also agreed to write the lyrics to my new song for the album," he said.
Mokhzani added that the singer was initially prepared to go into recording in July.
"But since Adibah wanted to focus more on competing on Gegar Vaganza 8 early this year, the plan was delayed. And then I retired," said Mokhzani.
However, he admitted to have tried to contact Adibah again when he was given the opportunity to continue his service as a music director.
"She remained silent. Maybe she was resting while keeping her illness a secret at the time. I was in my hometown Perlis when I heard the news. I was shocked and saddened by the loss of our national gem," he added.
