Adele shuts down misheard heckler at Vegas concert: 'Did you just say Pride sucks? Are you f---ing stupid?'

The Grammy-winner was quick to slam what she thought was a criticism of LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

Rumor has is that Adele won't tolerate homophobic hecklers — especially during Pride Month.

On Saturday, the Grammy-winner was monologuing between songs at her Las Vegas residency show when a yell from the crowd caught her attention. Without hesitation, Adele paused her speech to respond.

"What was that? Did you just say 'Pride sucks?'" the singer asked from her seat at the piano bench. While the crowd cheered her on, she continued, "Did you come to my f---ing show and just say that Pride sucks? Are you f---ing stupid? Don’t be so f---ing ridiculous.”

She added sharply, “If you have nothing nice to say, shut up, alright?"

Adele then resumed her performance, per fan-recorded footage of the incident.

A second video saw Adele directly addressing the start of Pride LGBTQ+ Pride Month later in the concert, by offering warm words to the audience… with one exception.

“Happy Pride,” she said, before pointing in the direction of the heckler. “Not to you, though.”

Fans present at the performance have since noted that Adele made a mistake. "Hate to defend a m*n but the guy was somewhere behind me and he said 'work sucks' not 'pride sucks,'" one fan wrote on X, sharing a video of the moment where the man is indeed heard yelling, "work sucks."

By this point, concertgoers should know better than to interrupt the singer during her Weekends With Adele performances, which began in Nov. 2022, as she will not hesitate to speak her mind. Back in July, she paused a show to criticize the disturbing trend of fans throwing objects onstage during concerts. The following months she halted again to reprimand a security guard for "bothering" a young fan who was standing and singing along during the show. "Leave him alone,” she told the guards, firmly.

The singer has also made time for more lighthearted commentary, like sharing her pre-Super Bowl opinions and telling NFL fans who take issue with Taylor Swift to “get a life.”

The “Send Your Love” singer has also long been outspoken about her support for the queer community. Back in 2016, she tearfully paid tribute to the victims of the Orlando, Florida Pulse nightclub shooting in the wake of the tragedy.

“I would like to start tonight by dedicating this entire show to everybody in Orlando at Pulse nightclub,” Adele told the crowd. “The LGBTQA community, they’re like my soulmates since I was really young, so I’m really moved by it.”

Weekends With Adele at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace is set to continue through November 2024, after several extensions. The singer is also planning a series of 10 concerts in Munich, Germany, which will take place in August.
