Adele responds to fan's marriage proposal: 'I can't marry you, I'm already getting married'

This is the closest the singer has come to confirming her engagement to sports agent Rich Paul.

Adele has long been a private person, at least as much as someone who's a global star can be.

But on Friday, she appeared to reveal some big personal news, after a fan at her concert in Munich asked for her hand in marriage. "I can't marry you, because I'm already getting married," the Grammy winner responded as she held up her ring, according to footage captured on X (below).

For months, there have been rumors that Adele is planning to walk down the aisle with sports agent Rich Paul, who she began dating in late 2021.

EW reached out to the singer but did not hear back.

The Grammy winner has sparked speculation about her relationship status before, like in September 2023 at a concert in Las Vegas, where another fan asked if they could marry her, and she called Paul her husband.

"You can't marry me, I'm straight, my love, and my husband's here tonight, he's here," she said.

After the fan asked Adele to try, she dismissed the idea immediately.

“Oh, no, I don’t want to try,” Adele said jokingly. "I'm with Rich — you're crazy, leave me alone."

Adele raved about Paul, who she met at a party, in a November 2021 interview with Oprah.

"He's just hilarious," she said. "Oh, he's so funny, he's hilarious, yeah. And very smart. You know, he's very, very smart. It's quite incredible watching him do what he does. And just the easiness of it."

The artist was previously married to Simon Konecki, with whom she shares a son, from 2018 to 2021.
