Adele has announced two new concert dates for Hyde Park next summer.

The London-born superstar will take to one of the biggest venues in her hometown in 2022 when she plays two open-air shows in the city's Hyde Park, on Friday 1 July and Saturday 2 July.

She announced that a presale of tickets will take place on Thursday 28 October from 10am and directed fans to her website adele.com where they can sign up for it.

Ticketmaster also has a countdown for tickets, with pre-sale available on Thursday 28 October and general tickets on sale on Saturday 30 October at 10am.

Excited fans tried to sign up as soon as they saw Adele's announcement on Tuesday morning but demand was so high the website crashed within minutes.

One person commented on her Instagram post: "Yeah the website has crashed."

Someone else wrote: "Can't get onto the website."

Other fans called for Adele to perform in their countries and asked the singer for a world tour.

In a recent interview with Zoe Ball for Radio 2, Adele said she wasn't able to plan a world tour at the moment because she didn't want to have to disappoint people by cancelling dates due to the pandemic.

She said: “I don’t have any solid plans because of COVID.

“It’s so hard to plan a global tour or global thing really, in person and stuff like that.”

But it now seems she was hinting at the Hyde Park shows when she added: “We have a few options in the pipeline and we are just trying to sort of work out what is most doable.

“Obviously I had to cancel my final two Wembley shows and I was devastated. I just don’t want to be cancelling anything again.”

“Maybe I’ll be b***** busking in the Tube, we just don’t know do we!”
