Actress Puteri Sarah Liyana sues ex-husband, Syamsul Yusof’s sister-in-law for defamation

KUALA LUMPUR, Sep 4 — Actress Puteri Sarah Liyana Megat Kamaruddin has filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband’s sister-in-law for defamation.

On Instagram yesterday, the 37-year-old posted a copy of the notice of demand for defamation cum injunction sent to Wiwie Darvienda Mazweena, the sister of ex-husband Syamsul Yusof’s wife, Ira Kazar.

Puteri Sarah, who is currently in Jakarta, shared the news with fans, saying: “Alhamdullilah, good news from my lawyers.”

Filed by Puteri Sarah’s lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kadir on August 30, the notice alleges Wiwie posted defamatory remarks on Instagram on August 24.

Puteri Sarah previously expressed anger over Wiwie’s disparaging comments, which were made after she had withdrawn the first lawsuit filed against Ira Kazar’s family.

Wiwi had allegedly asked to meet Puteri Sarah after she was informed that legal action would be taken against her, reported mStar.

But Puteri Sarah Liyana declined, saying that she would proceed and see her in court.
