Actress Alicia Amin and husband divorce after two years of marriage (VIDEO)
KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 — Actress and model Alicia Amin, 28, has confirmed her divorce from ex-husband Dr Farzan Iqbal, 29.
The star of The Disappearance of Irdina Adhwa said the split had been amicable with no infidelity on either side.
“It’s true,” Alicia told Kosmo Online. “We went to court together and he divorced me with one talaq.”
She drew attention yesterday after she posted a video of her dressed in a long black dress and on her way to or from what looked to be a courthouse.
An unidentified man shielded her from the rain with an umbrella.
Playing in the background was Joe Flizzow’s Baek with the lyrics: ‘jumpa janda baik bawa balik janda baik’, which means find a good divorced woman, bring home a good divorced woman.
Actress Lisa Surihani was the first to comment: “Love and light to you always.”
Actress Nur Fazura said, “None of our business but kakak wishing you the best for you always. Love you.”
Singer Daiyan Trisha said, “Love you bb, my boyfie forever.”
To which Alicia replied, “I’m all yours now.”
Alicia explained that after living as husband and wife for two years, they know themselves better and decided they were better off as friends.
There were cracks in their relationship from early on and in the end, nothing could save it.
“I still love Farzan and he’s a good man but this is as far as we get,” continued Alicia.
“I don’t want to put down my ex-husband because that’s not my style.”
She did, however, blame their hectic schedules for the break-up.
“He’s always working late at the clinic and I’m always travelling for work.”
Shortly before the divorce, Alicia was in Bali for a month and had plenty of time to think about their relationship.
“When I got back, I knew for sure we were over.
“He has left the house and I pray only the best for him.”
Alicia and Farzan, who have no children, tied the knot on Valentine’s Day 2021.
