Actor Remy Ishak chooses a classic Malay name for firstborn

KUALA LUMPUR, August 21 — Three weeks after the birth of his first child, actor Remy Ishak has chosen a classic Malay name for the boy — Tuah Alam.

The 41-year-old, whose real name is Mohammad Zalimei Ishak, said he had been wanting to name his child a classic Malay name if he had a son a for the longest time, Astro Gempak reported.

“When I was a bachelor, I had thought of wanting to name my child with a classic Malay name if it’s a boy ,” he said, adding the name was also agreed by his wife Ezza Yusof.

The Dendam Pontianak actor said besides Tuah Alam, they also considered other names such as Tuah Arjuna and Tuah Alexander.

“But in the end we decided on Tuah Alam.”

He added that people may link the name Tuah with 15th century warrior Hang Tuah but it is not just that.

Ezza, who married Remy on August 21 2021, delivered the baby on July 27 at a private hospital.
