KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 — It’s been three years since actor Irrfan Khan’s passing but fans have his last movie to look forward to.

The Song of Scorpions is set to hit theatres on April 28, one day ahead of Irrfan’s third death anniversary.

Fans are in for a treat if the captivating trailer, which came out yesterday (April 19), is anything to go by.

Irrfan’s son, actor Babil shared the trailer on Instagram, writing, “Bringing alive a heart-wrenching tale of love, obsession and betrayal.”

Directed by Anup Singh, it stars Irrfan as camel dealer Aadam who falls in love with tribal woman Nooran after hearing her sing.

Nooran, played by Golshifteh Farahani, is learning the ancient healing art of scorpion singing from her grandmother, a revered scorpion singer.

The film is based on a popular myth that if a scorpion bites someone, he will die unless a scorpion singer sings her song and cures him.

Irrfan’s last big screen appearance was in Angrezi Medium, which was released in March 2020.

In April that year, Irrfan, the father of two sons, died aged 53 of neuroendocrine cancer.

Widely regarded as one of the finest actors in world cinema, his career spanned over 30 years and earned him numerous awards.

Known as the actor liked by everyone, the Jurassic World and Slumdog Millionaire star remained humble and genuinely cared about people, despite his international success.
