Activists demand G7 leaders take climate action

Leaders of the G7 are gathering in nearby Carbis Bay where they will meet for three days to discuss issues ranging from COVID-19 vaccines and economic recovery to climate change and geopolitics.

The activists, wearing masks depicting world leaders as other were dressed as blackbirds, demanded a commitment to carbon neutrality as soon as possible.

"World leaders have committed to being carbon neutral by 2050, that's too late. It's like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. There's a crisis and the ship is going down and we're just tinkering around the edges and we need to do something more," an unnamed protester said.
