Its latest entry in the lineup, the Aspire Vero 14, has just landed in Malaysia, with improved hardware and even more recycled material being used.

Acer Aspire Vero 14 Malaysia pricing and availability

The Acer Aspire Vero 14 is now available for purchase from the Acer Malaysia eStore as well as their official stores on Lazada and Shopee. Here’s how much they’ll cost:

Acer Aspire Vero 14, Intel Core i3-1315U, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM2,599

Acer Aspire Vero 14, Intel Core i5-1335U, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM3,099

Acer Aspire Vero 14, Intel Core i7-1355U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM3,899

Keeping in line with the Vero lineup’s eco-friendly ideals, if you’re planning to get one of the new Aspire Vero 14 laptops for yourself, Acer Malaysia is having a ‘Trade in and Go Green’ campaign where from now till the end of September 2023, customers can trade in their old devices for up to RM500 off the purchase of an Aspire Vero 14. This won’t cover smartphones however, only tablets, laptops, desktops and AIOs.

Acer Aspire Vero 14 specs

Just like the last two Aspire Vero laptops, the new Aspire Vero 14 features post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic in its chassis. However, unlike its predecessors, this new laptop has more PCR plastic used in its body, with 40% of its chassis being made of PCR compared to its predecessors. According to Acer, this led to a 30% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions during the chassis production process, and despite having more recycled material in it they claim that the Aspire Vero 14 will still be able to withstand everyday wear and tear.

As for the actual hardware under the hood, you’ll find the latest 13th Gen Intel Core processors with up to the Intel Core i7-1355U available; do note though that only the Core i5 and Core i7 models have Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics with the Core i3 using Intel UHD instead. This comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM and a 512GB SSD running Windows 11 out of the box. You’ll also be staring at a 14-inch, FHD IPS display with a peak brightness of 300nits and full coverage of the sRGB color gamut.

For I/O you’ll find a HDMI 2.1 port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s also a 720p HD webcam and a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello, while for wireless connectivity the Aspire Vero 14 supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. Keeping the lights on meanwhile is a 50Wh battery that should last up to 10.5 hours, bringing the total weight of the Aspire Vero 14 to 1.5kg. It’s perhaps also worth noting that Acer has used standard screws with the Aspire Vero 14 to make product repair and recycling easier.

On top of that, you’ll find the regular assortment of features unique to the Vero lineup, such as the trackpad being made from recycled ocean bound plastic, a paint-free chassis (this time in Marianna Blue) as well as the VeroSense management app that lets you tweak performance settings to use less power unnecessarily and extend battery life. There’s the reversed R and E keys too that’s always been on the Aspire Vero laptops. The packaging for the Aspire Vero 14 is also made of recycled paper and cardboard, and can be reused too to become an ergonomic laptop stand. — SoyaCincau
