Abbey Clancy has confessed that she hated performing live on Strictly Come Dancing and would have “rather died”.

The model and TV star, 35, was one of the celebrity contestants on the 11th series of the BBC ballroom show in 2013.

She went on to win and lift the coveted Glitterball trophy with her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec, but has now admitted she did not enjoy her turns on the dancefloor at all.

Clancy also said she “hated” the live tour that followed the series.

Speaking on Frazer T Smith’s 12 Questions podcast, she said she had a lot of fears.

"When I did Strictly, I loved practising in the rehearsal room, and then when I had to do the live show, I would have rather died, it was that severe," she said.

“We did a live tour in all the big arenas and I hated it.

"I hated the crowd cheering me... It was such a bizarre feeling to me."

Saying that crowds spur some people on, Clancy explained that it didn't work for her.

"As I've got older the fear overtakes my ability to do things well," she said.
