An 83-year-old grandfather was one of those to take part in a demonstration at London City Airport on October 10, organized by the environmental activist group Extinction Rebellion. He said he was standing up for future generations.
“I’m here for my grandchildren and all their generation. I’m also here for the poorest peoples, who have done the least to cause climate breakdown and are suffering the most,” the man, named as Phil, said.
There was major disruption at the busy London airport, with flights delayed, and increased security measures in place as a result of the demonstration.
According to a reporter with London radio station LBC, who was on the scene, the man shown in the video was subsequently arrested. Credit: Extinction Rebellion via Storyful
