  • A "Captain Marvel" sequel, "The Marvels," is in theaters on November 10.

  • The first movie came out in 2019. The titular character also appeared in "Avengers: Endgame."

  • Here's what to remember from those films as well as "WandaVision," "Ms. Marvel," and the MCU.

The sequel to 2019's billion-dollar hit "Captain Marvel" is finally out this fall and it will focus on three marvelous heroes instead of just one.

Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Monica Rambeau/Photon's (Teyonah Parris) worlds collide when their light-based powers get scrambled in "The Marvels." The trio need to work together to untangle their energies and face a greater threat to the universe.

Here's what to remember from the MCU when the movie hits theaters on November 10.

Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel) is one of the strongest heroes in the MCU.

Captain Marvel received her powers in the first movie during an explosion where she was exposed to the powers of the space Infinity stone. A subsequent blood transfusion from Yon-Rogg (Jude Law) caused her to become half-Kree, endowing her with additional powers.

As one of the few heroes who could go toe-to-toe with Thanos in "Avengers: Endgame," Captain Marvel is one of the most powerful heroes in the MCU.

Danvers ages slower due to absorbing the powers of the space stone and her half-Kree status. Marvel India's social media account posted a photo placing Danvers as over 60 despite appearing much younger.

In the first film, Danvers went by the name "Vers," so don't be surprised if any foe refers to her by her old name.

The last time we saw Captain Marvel, she was helping others in the universe. She appeared at the end of "Shang-Chi," attempting to weigh in on the origins of the magical 10 rings that gave him powers.

The Kree are an advanced alien race who want to conquer galaxies and were the villains of "Captain Marvel."

Their homeworld of Hala, where Danvers lived for years while unaware of her true identity in "Captain Marvel," will be featured in the sequel.

According to the movie's production notes, Danvers' powers will start to mingle with Ms. Marvel's and Photon's after crossing paths with a Kree revolutionary.

Nick Fury is married to a Skrull and is off in space as the director of S.A.B.E.R.

Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is currently the director of a defense program known as S.A.B.E.R. where he operates out of a space station, watching over and protecting Earth from any potential threats in the universe.

Marvel's Disney+ series, "Secret Invasion," revealed that Fury has been married to a Skrull named Varra/Priscilla (Charlayne Woodard) who we may see since the couple departed Earth together at the show's end to presumably work at S.A.B.E.R.

Monica Rambeau is the daughter of Carol's best friend, Maria, who helped design Captain Marvel's suit colors.

In "Captain Marvel," Monica appeared as a child who looked up to Captain Marvel, referring to her as Aunt Carol. She helped Danvers choose the blue, red, and gold design of Captain Marvel's superhero outfit.

Danvers fondly called Monica "Lieutenant Trouble" as a child, which she could still use as a moniker for her niece in the sequel.

Carol and Monica's mother, Maria (Lashana Lynch), were roommates at the US Air Force Academy. On Disney+'s "WandaVision," Maria died due to complications from cancer.

Monica's all grown up now and gained superpowers after coming into contact with extra-dimensional energy that Wanda Maximoff placed around a town in New Jersey. As a result, she can phase through matter and chooses to go by her mom's Air Force call sign, Photon.

We expect to see Monica working with Fury since "The Marvels" production notes have her listed as a S.A.B.E.R. astronaut.

Kamala Khan is a huge fan of Captain Marvel who was endowed with superpowers and goes by the name Ms. Marvel.

Introduced on Disney+'s "Ms. Marvel," Kamala is a teen from New Jersey who awakened powers she didn't know she had after putting on her grandmother's bangle.

Taking on the superhero moniker Ms. Marvel, she's able to draw energy from another dimension to give her super strength, stretch her body, and create crystalline objects.

Kamala's friend Bruno (Matt Lintz) told her on the show's season one finale that she has mutated genes, making many believe she's the MCU's first mutant since a recognizable sound from the animated "X-Men" series theme song played in the background.

Goose may look like a cat, but she's an alien called a Flerken.

Originally Dr. Lawson/Mar-Vell's (Annette Bening's) pet, Carol and Fury take ownership of Goose in "Captain Marvel."

The adorable — and extremely intelligent — alien contains pocket dimensions inside its small body which hold octopus-like tentacles to attack enemies and swallow large objects they can store.

Despite permanently blinding Fury, the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director was incredibly fond of the feline who was last seen inside his office during the "Captain Marvel" end-credits scene.

Goose will return in "The Marvels" along with a group of feline friends called Flerkittens.

Danvers' Skrull friend, Talos, is dead. But his powerful daughter could pop up.

The Skrulls were shape-shifters who invaded Earth in 2019's "Captain Marvel," seeking a place to call home.

Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), a respected Skrull leader who worked with Danvers and Nick Fury, was killed while saving the US president in Marvel's 2023 Disney+ series "Secret Invasion."

Talos' daughter, G'iah (Emilia Clarke), could turn up in the sequel since she first appeared in "Captain Marvel" as a child to Danvers.

Injected with the DNA of many Marvel characters, ranging from Thanos to Captain Marvel, G'iah may now be the most powerful character in the MCU. The last time we saw her, she agreed to start working with MI6 agent Sonya Falsworth (Olivia Colman).
