6 People Born Live on “Good Morning America” Return to the Show More Than 20 Years Later

The babies, now adults, were born at hospitals across the country in 2001 and 2002

More than 20 years after they were born live on Good Morning America, six people returned to the show to share updates about where they are now.

The six adults — Coraima Luna, Kelsey Nolan, Jackson Hornung, Jacob Ryan Shamban, Harrison Shalar and Ken Weintraub — opened up about their first 20 plus years of life on the Thursday, Nov. 14 episode of GMA.

The first birthing special aired on Feb. 6, 2001, when five of the six babies were born at three separate hospitals across Texas and Massachusetts. Two others, Shalar and Weintraub, were born on-air in 2002.

Two decades later, all six adults are thriving.

During the special catch-up, Weintraub revealed he's studying aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan, while fellow 2002 baby Shalar works as a hairstylist in San Francisco.

Shalar said his mother made a “last minute” decision to do the live segment. “She knew it was meant to be,” he explained.

Nolan and Hornung were both born in Boston, in 2001. Nolan also said producers had to talk her mom into doing the segment, and even had her wait for the show to begin before she began pushing.

“The producers kindly asked her if she would wait until 7:00 [a.m.], because the show started at 7:00,” she recalled. “They said, ‘don’t laugh, don’t cough … no sudden movements.' "

Hornung is now a professional baseball player, getting drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2023, and Nolan is studying to be an occupational therapist. He uses his unusual birth story as an icebreaker.

“Sometimes they don’t believe it and they just think I’m a really good liar,” Hornung said, adding, "A lot of people just have questions.”

Luna, who was born in Texas in 2001, still enjoys being on camera to this day. She was even joined by her new husband in-studio.

“It’s unbelievable to see how an action or something like this can shape your personality. But in reality, it really did,” she explained, noting that she's sought out the camera ever since she was born in front of one.

Shamban, also born in Texas in 2001, now works in financial planning in Wisconsin. He and Luna had not seen their births before their latest appearance on GMA.

“It’s like one of those things where you hear the stories but obviously, you’re too young to remember,” Shamban explained, “so it’s just kind of finally putting all the pieces together there for you [and] making it all real-life for yourself.”
