I’ve bought outerwear from Old Navy for years. From jean jackets to long winter coats, I’ve always liked that they were practical enough to keep me warm yet chic enough to look good in — and, as someone who wears a size 2XL, there are a ton of great plus-size options, too. As an Old Navy sales associate, seeing the latest styles firsthand is a common perk. And recently, I’ve had the chance to check out the newest outerwear for fall 2024 and see which styles are best for the colder months. From bomber jackets to classic puffer vests, keep scrolling for my honest review.

The Relaxed Shirt Jacket is super chic and stylish and adds personality to an outfit. It comes in three other colours, but I think this one is perfect for the fall. It’s super cozy and I love that it has a relaxed fit. Surprisingly, it had the best pocket space. Both my hands fit completely, and I think I could even fit my phone and my wallet in the same one. The only thing I’d look out for is the sizing around the shoulders and under the arms. It’s a bit tight, so I’d size it up for overall comfort.

The Relaxed Car Coat was probably my favourite jacket to try on. It’s figure-flattering and I love its length. It’s super warm and perfect for the fall and winter months. This is a longer coat, but as someone who’s 5’4", I thought the length was fine. I love how soft the material is and how it hugs the body. I did do a sit test with it, and I would suggest sizing up for more room around the stomach.

I didn’t think the Faux-Leather Puffer Vest would be warm, but it actually is. I wore it with the Plush-Knit Long-Sleeve T-Shirt, and I love how it pairs. For a faux-leather piece, you’d think it’d be tight somewhere under the arms, but the sizing is accurate, and it fits like a glove. I like how it adds a nice touch to a casual look, too, yet doesn't overdo it. Overall, the front buttons are my favourite part because they make putting it on and taking it off easy.

Denim is a fall staple, and this was so comfortable on me. I haven’t had the best luck with jean jackets fitting me properly, but the sizing on this one was so accurate. I love the allowance under the arms and around the shoulders. The pocket space was pretty generous as well. And I love that it comes in three other colours if a darker tone is more your style.

I can’t get over how soft this material is and how well this chic and comfortable bomber jacket hugs my body. I like that the Oversized Bomber Jacket gives off that relaxed look without trying to. And like the puffer vest, it’s also buttoned up at the front, making it easy to put on and take off. But here’s the thing: it really is oversized. So, if that’s not your style, I’d strongly suggest sizing down. Maybe even twice.
