Like many parents around the world, Melbourne man Mace Caruana and his wife, Kimberley, are trying to keep their kids busy during isolation owing to the coronavirus. Their solution? An indoor obstacle course.
In a video posted to Twitter on March 22, the couple’s four-year-old daughter, Ivy, is seen tackling the course while her father guides her through the task.
“Proper push-ups,” Caruana can be heard saying at one point in the video as he instructs his daughter while she moves along the course. Initially, she is followed by her two-year-old brother, Xavier, though he soon loses interest and heads for the nearest toy.
After some jumps and a bear crawls, Ivy eventually wails of exhaustion and lies down, unable to take any more.
Caruana told Storyful his wife came up with the obstacle course idea to keep the children busy. “Trying to keep them occupied has been difficult,” Caruana said, “There’s only so many games and toys you can play with and we try to keep them off electronics as much as possible.”
