West Ham are set to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca with a medical scheduled for tomorrow, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano brought us the news last week that the Hammers had agreed a fee for the Italy international, while Scamacca was also happy with personal terms.

And now Sheth claims the 23-year-old will fly to London tonight before undergoing a medical tomorrow where he will sign a five-year deal.

Jeopardy is the warp and weft of football and the Premier League has sod all

Sheth told Sky Sports: “I’ve just had some breaking news on the Gianluca Scamacca deal, and that is West Ham have agreed personal terms with the Italian striker. The 23-year-old is now expected to fly into London tonight ahead of a medical tomorrow.

“Scamacca will sign a five-year deal at the London Stadium, with the option of a further year. The Hammers agreed a £35.5m package to sign the Sassuolo striker last week.

“The deal will see West Ham pay an initial £30.5m with £5m in add-ons.”

West Ham have already been fairly busy this summer with Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes and Alphonse Areola all coming through the door – but they want to add more.

Their interest in Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic is well known but Sheth has revealed that their bid for the Serbian amounts to around £10m.

Sheth added: “West Ham have a bid worth an initial £10m on the table for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic.

“The Serbia international is yet to decide if he would like to join David Moyes’ side given he has the guarantee of Champions League football with Frankfurt next season after they won the Europa League.

“The 29-year-old has, though, entered the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga side. Left-back has been a priority position this summer for [David] Moyes.”

And Sheth claims Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz, Lille midfielder Amadou Onana and Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski are all other targets.

Sheth continued: “We understand Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz is one of a number of players West Ham are looking at this summer.

“The Chile international has entered the final year of his contract at Ewood Park. The Championship side are thought to want around £15m for the 23-year-old.

“Brereton Diaz scored 22 goals in 37 Championship games last season.

“West Ham are in the market for other players as they pursue deals for Gianluca Scamacca and Filip Kostic.

“The Hammers also want to further strengthen in central midfield.  They’ve made a bid for Lille’s Amadou Onana and are keeping an eye on Piotr Zielinski’s situation at Napoli.”
