Snowy, icy conditions caused around 30 cars to be involved in separate crashes on the SR 520 floating bridge in Seattle, Washington, on January 13, state troopers said.
Elsewhere, motorists were stranded on Highway 2 and the Stevens Pass Highway in Skykomish, as severe weather caused power outages and downed trees, the National Weather Service said.
The Washington State Department of Transportation said they closed Highway 2 on Sunday as there was a risk of trees falling.
Stevens Pass and Highway 2 were still closed in both directions as of approximately 10:15 am local time Monday, though a “caravan of buses and cars was allowed through after they were stuck in Skykomish overnight,” Q13’s Omar Lewis reported. Credit: WSDOT Traffic via Storyful
