3 people arrested after drive-by incident in Yellowknife
Yellowknife RCMP have arrested three people after a driver reported their vehicle was shot at outside of Walmart on Sunday, according to a news release.
The driver told police a vehicle had been following them and pulled up alongside them. A masked person then pointed a gun at their vehicle and the driver heard a thud.
Police later determined the person's vehicle had not been struck by gunfire and an imitation firearm may have been used.
Officers found the vehicle at the Capital Suites parking lot. Police seized $20,000 cash "believed to be the proceeds of crime," two grams of suspected crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, ski masks and several edged weapons.
Nicholas Apsimik, 21, Tyrone Field, 20, and a 16-year-old, who can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were arrested and each charged with being disguised with intent to commit a criminal offence, pointing a firearm, laundering the proceeds of crime and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
All three people were remanded into custody.
