The Smokehouse Creek wildfire has forced families to flee their homes in hopes of escaping the massive blaze, which has already killed one person.

Tyler McCain and his family are among those who fled the Fritch area as the fire approached their home, which eventually went up in flames, according to CBS News and CNN.

On Wednesday, the family returned to their property and found their home burned down, per the outlets. Several homes on the block were also burned, while others were completely untouched.

Tyler said “everybody in the car broke down” when they saw their home.

Seeing his daughter cry broke his heart and the dad says he regrets not grabbing more before they fled, like her favorite stuffed animal.

“Stuff can be replaced, but it’s hard to see your kids get ripped out of their life like that,” he said, per CNN.
