2nd person bit by wolf near Yellowknife in a month
A wolf bit a tourist near Yellowknife over the weekend, according to the N.W.T. Department of Environment and Climate Change.
The department issued a notice on social media Monday saying the incident happened on Saturday between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. near Boundary Creek, about 30 kilometres outside of Yellowknife on Highway 3.
"A lone grey wolf approached a group of tourists while they were viewing the northern lights, and one person was bitten," reads the notice.
It adds that wildlife officers have been patrolling the area and notifying homeowners.
"Residents are advised to be cautious, watch for signage and avoid this area," reads the notice.

This is the second time a wolf has bitten someone near Yellowknife in the span of a month.
A person was bit while walking their dog on the Ranney Hill trail in early September. Wildlife officers recently killed a wolf in that area; while lab tests were inconclusive, the department said it was likely the same wolf involved in last month's incident.
