Being proud is timeless. 🖤🏳️🌈
People should always be proud of who they are, but that rings extra true for members of the LGBTQ+ community during June. Every year at this time, which is also know as Pride Month, people around the world gather to celebrate the strides for equality that the LGBTQ+ community has made. It's also a good time to remember the history of LGBTQ+ people and the challenges they have faced. This often ends in over-the-top parades that celebrate what it means to be LGBTQ+. But it wasn't always like as, as evident from Pride photos throughout the years.
The first Pride event, which took place in 1949 was known as the Stonewall Rebellion. This event was a series of resistance that helped propel the LGBTQ+ equality movement into a global platform. Since then, Pride events have evolved, but the message remains the same: love is love, and should be equal for all.
