2025 Razzie nominees include Lady Gaga, 'Joker: Folie à Deux,' 'Madame Web'
It's not an honor just to be nominated at the 2025 Razzies.
The nominees for the Golden Raspberry Awards, a parody award show that nominates the worst films and performances of the year, were unveiled Tuesday, and "Joker: Folie a Deux" had the misfortune of leading the pack with seven nominations.
The widely panned sequel to the supervillain origin story earned worst actor and worst actress nominations for stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, the former of whom won an Oscar for the same role in the original film. They were also nominated for worst screen combo, another blow for the movie that Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser ruthlessly mocked in her monologue earlier this month.
"Borderlands," "Madame Web," "Megalopolis" and "Reagan" tied with six Razzie nominations each and alongside "Joker" filled out the category of worst picture.
Dakota Johnson was named a worst actress contender for "Madame Web," another critically detested superhero flop, and her co-stars Tahar Rahim and Emma Roberts didn't walk away unscathed. They were both nominated for their supporting performances.
Francis Ford Coppola, meanwhile, was nominated for worst director for his long-awaited passion project "Megalopolis," for which he spent millions of dollars of his own money. Some outlets, including The New York Times, named the controversial film one of the best of the year.
The video game movie "Borderlands" and the Ronald Reagan biopic "Reagan" also fared well — or rather, poorly — in the nominations.

A few actors had the regrettable distinction of being in contention for more than one film. Jack Black was nominated for both lead actor and supporting actor for "Dear Santa" and "Borderlands," respectively. In contrast, Ariana DeBose was nominated for worst supporting actress for "Argylle" and "Kraven the Hunter" and Jon Voight was nominated for worst supporting actor for four different movies: "Megalopolis," "Reagan," "Shadow Land" and "Strangers."
Other nominated movies included Jerry Seinfeld's Pop-Tarts comedy "Unfrosted" and the Jennifer Lopez sci-fi movie "Atlas." Lopez earned a worst actress nomination for the Netflix film.
The Razzies have been mocking the worst in film since 1981. But they're no stranger to controversy, and some critics have argued the awards are overly mean-spirited. In 2023, the Razzies apologized after facing backlash for nominating a 12-year-old, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, for worst actress.
In a statement then, Razzies' co-founder John Wilson said the criticism "brought our attention to how insensitive we've been in this instance," and the actress was removed from the ballot. "We also believe a public apology is owed Ms. Armstrong, and wish to say we regret any hurt she experienced as a result of our choices."
"Winners" for the 2025 Razzie Awards will be unveiled on March 1, the day before the Oscars.
