2024 Olympics: Snoop Dogg shouts out Canadian artistic swimmers amid viral Olympic journey for the ages

To say Snoop Dogg has been having the time of his life at the 2024 Paris Olympics would be putting it very, very mildly

Sure, these Summer Olympics are technically being held in Paris, but they might be known as the "Snoop Dogg Games" when everything is said and done.

The Grammy award-winning recording artist has been living his best life over the past couple of weeks in Paris as an ambassador for NBC. Snoop is reportedly pulling in around $500,000/day to be apart of the network's Olympic coverage in an effort to boost ratings among mainstream, non-sports fans. And that investment looks to be paying off mightily.

Through the first five days of the Summer Games, NBC averaged 34-million viewers per day on cable and streaming combined, according to the Associated Press — an increase of nearly 15 million per day over the same period of the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. Two weeks ago, the U.S. network doubled its opening-Saturday viewership numbers from Tokyo, reportedly drawing a whopping 35 million sets of eyes.

From swimming with Michael Phelps to hanging out with Simone Biles and attending a soccer match with Megan Rapinoe, most of Snoop's Olympic endeavours have, naturally, targeted NBC's American audience. The hip-hop icon and man of the people, however, was quick to give some love to Canada's artistic swimming squad after they used one of his most popular jams in one of their routines this week.

"That sounds like me! Ehhhh, ehhhh, oh Canada, ohhh. Hey, shout out to Canada man! I didn't know I left that kind of impression when I did my tour, but I love ya'll ladies, way to go!" said Snoop.

On Friday, Snoop Dogg opened up the Olympics' inaugural breakdancing competition, which feels like the most on-brand things possible.

My man has also, naturally, been hanging out with his good pal Martha Stewart, who told the Associated Press, "I think he's done an amazing job for the Olympics."

“This is the celebration of the finest athleticism ever in the world and he has made it so accessible to everybody,” Stewart added. "That's his talent. Everybody loves him."

To celebrate her 83rd birthday on Saturday, Stewart attended an equestrian team dressage event with Snoop. The pair went full-out for the horseback riding competition, too, rocking matching helmets and uniforms.

How about Snoop dancing with a horse? Your welcome!

Snoop also got to catch some skateboarding with Tony Hawk, living every 90s kid's dream out in real time. NBA star Devin Booker came along for the ride, too.

A private tour of the world famous Louvre? Why the hell not.

Snoop calling some Olympic soccer on Spanish-language TV network Telemundo is an absolute site (and sound) to behold.

Snoop also found some time to catch a little fencing action with Canadian actress Nina Dobrev and skateboard/snowboard legend Shaun White.

And what would these Olympics be without Snoop commentating on some badminton action? Incredible content.

The Grammy-winning artist carrying the Olympic torch was also extremely fitting if you're familiar with his preferred extra-curricular activities, as I'm sure you probably are.

And no Olympic journey is complete without hanging with a couple Summer Games GOATS.

And it wasn't just the man himself having the time of his life in Paris, as sports fans from around the world are absolutely loving Snoop Dogg's Olympic escapades.

Becoming the darling of the Olympics is just the latest non-musical endeavour for Snoop, who has evolved a lot since breaking through as a gangster rapper more than three decades ago. He's appeared as an actor in films such as “Starsky & Hutch" and “Training Day,” and as a reality TV star with his good buddy Stewart in “Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party.”

Wherever Snoop goes from here, it appears the people will be very on-board with it.
