2024 Democratic National Convention: Watch Speeches by President Obama and Michelle Obama on Day 2
The 2024 Democratic National Convention continues Tuesday, with former President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff set to deliver speeches in primetime.
“Our convention is an opportunity to bring the story of our party to the American people — not just the story of what we’ve achieved under the Biden-Harris administration, but how the Harris-Walz ticket is planning to build on that historic record for a new way forward into the future,” Convention Chair Minyon Moore said in a statement. “The story here is simple and it’s one that will resonate with Americans across the country: Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are fighting for the American people and America’s future — Donald Trump is only fighting for himself.”

The DNC is being held at Chicago’s United Center, from Aug. 19-22. It follows the Republican National Convention, which was held last month in Milwaukee, Wis., where former president Donald Trump was certified as the GOP’s nominee.
Live programming from the Democratic National Convention resumes at 6:30 pm ET Tuesday. You can watch the DNC’s official livestream embedded below. Highlights will be added as they air.
What follows is the DNC’s Night 2 program, including a list of confirmed speakers, as well as tune-in information for TV news coverage.
TUESDAY’S THEME
A Bold Vision for America’s Future – This race isn’t just a choice between two candidates. It’s a choice between two very different visions of America. While Donald Trump believes our best days are behind us, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz know the best days lie ahead. Standing in stark contrast to the Trump-Vance Project 2025 agenda designed to take us backwards, the Harris-Walz ticket presents a brighter vision where everyone will have a chance not just to get by, but to get ahead.
THE HOST
Each night of the DNC will feature a different celebrity host. Tony Goldwyn (Law & Order) will host Monday, followed by Ana Navarro (The View) on Tuesday, Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project) on Wednesday, and Kerry Washington (UnPrisoned) on Thursday.
THE SPEAKERS
Former president Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will address Tuesday’s convention. Additional speakers include Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Gov. JB Pritzker, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and Sen. Tammy Duckworth.
