2020 NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION MUST BE EXTRAORDINARY - GOBIND

MOHD YUSOF SAARI

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- The 2020 National Day Celebration should become an extraordinary event and much better than the celebrations in the previous years, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

He said the relevant departments and agencies must make early preparations and think outside the box to ensure that the most important annual event would leave a mark to the people and country.

Acknowledging that managing the event on Aug 31, which is a sacred date for Malaysia, was a major challenge for the ministry, yet the outstanding organisation demonstrated this year (2019) gave the confidence that such aspiration could be achieved, he said.

“Now we have to look forward for the 2020 National Day celebration and with the performance shown this year, I believe we can do better next year.

"For this purpose, we must make much earlier preparation, try to think outside the box how to plan for an extraordinary event that could be seen by the people as an event that is much better than this year,” he said.
