Two people are dead after a shooting in Iowa, where rapper Boosie Badazz was among several artists set to take the stage for an outdoor concert over the weekend.

The shooting at the I-29 Speedway in Pacific Junction, Iowa, occurred in the parking lot around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, according to a statement from the Iowa Department of Public Safety.

The event, titled “The Pull Up Car Show and Music Fest,” was marketed online as a car show and concert featuring live performances from several artists, including Boosie, Rob49 and Rich the Factor. It was scheduled to go on until 11 p.m. on Aug. 10.

However, the show was canceled as a result of the shooting, authorities said. Two Nebraska men, identified as Marcus L. Johnson, 28, and Charles A. Williams Jr., 27, died in the shooting, per the statement. A motive for the shooting remains unclear.

Boosie, 41, spoke out about the event being canceled on Instagram that night, sharing a video which shows him seemingly unaware of the reason why the event was canceled.

“They just shut the concert down,” the Louisiana-born rapper said. “I’ve been in the back a couple of hours waiting to perform and [police] just shut the concert down. I don’t know. Some s--- happened in the front.”
