Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks' unmissable 25th anniversary celebrations are getting closer – and a brand-new trailer is here to tease the drama ahead.

First look footage of the upcoming milestone showcases the return of familiar faces, a sinister new McQueen family storyline and grave danger for some of the show's biggest characters.

Here's a full collection of 11 big spoilers from the new promo.

1. Theresa McQueen returns

As first confirmed earlier this month, Jorgie Porter is reprising her role as fan favourite Theresa McQueen after a four-year break.

The new trailer shows Theresa arrive back in the village in style, turning up with a white suitcase and looking as glamorous as ever in sunglasses and stilettos.

Jorgie recently said: "Coming back felt just like home and as if I haven't even been away for five minutes.

"Everyone's still the same and they're all amazing and inviting. I've been on set a few times now and I've had the best time and Theresa has literally jumped right back in to my body and my mind as if she's never left."

2. The McQueen family are blackmailed

Theresa's timing doesn't seem to be the greatest, as her big comeback coincides with a sinister new storyline which sees the McQueen family get blackmailed by a mystery figure.

The unsettling new plot sees the McQueens – Mercedes, Theresa, Goldie, John Paul, Sylver, Nana and Cher – all cast as "seven deadly sinners" by their unknown enemy, who appears determined to make them pay for their past mistakes. (Where to start?)

In scenes sure to give us nightmares, a creepy talking doll is sent to terrify the family, who must work hard to uncover the blackmailer while their darkest secrets are under serious threat of being revealed.

3. Ste Hay returns

Kieron Richardson has also returned to filming following a long break from his role as Ste Hay. Viewers last saw Ste in November 2019, when he left the village to clear his head after turning against Stuart Sumner and his group of far-right extremists.

In the upcoming scenes, a shaken-looking Ste comes face-to-face with Yasmine Maalik after arriving back unexpectedly. But can the Maalik family ever forgive him for what he put them through last year?

4. Nico Blake returns… sort of

It's official. Sienna Blake's evil daughter Nico Blake is back from the dead again – well, in a manner of speaking, anyway.

Persephone Swales-Dawson has returned to set for another stint as Nico, who'll be appearing as a figment of Liberty's imagination. This comes as Liberty continues to have doubts about giving away the baby she carried for Sienna and Brody.

In Liberty's hallucinations, Nico appears as a nurse and tries to convince her not to go ahead with the promise she'd made to Sienna and Brody. Meanwhile, Sienna worries for her sister, speculating that she might have depression.

5. Kurt Benson returns

Completing the "look who's back!" theme, original cast member Jeremy Edwards has also returned to set for the 25th anniversary episodes. Jeremy is reprising the role of Kurt Benson, who was killed off in a jet-ski accident in 1999.

Kurt rides back into the Hollyoaks village on his signature motorbike and reunites with his old friend Tony. Has Tony seen a ghost or is there another explanation? All will be revealed.

6. Mitchell makes a horrifying discovery – and could be Toby's next victim

Mitchell receives a sinister shock when he finds Lisa Loveday's body hidden in the boot of Toby's car. Viewers saw Toby kill Lisa in a case of mistaken identity earlier this month, as things went terribly wrong after he set out to murder Mitchell.

In the story's next big twist, Mitchell discovers what Toby did and immediately gets caught by his brother. How far will Toby go to cover his tracks?

7. Yazz proposes to Tom

Yazz ends up proposing to Tom in the middle of the village, but how will he respond? Could they be the mystery couple lined up for a New Year wedding?

After transforming her image, Juliet becomes one of Victor's main players in the County Lines drug dealing operations. This includes getting her very own patch for the first time.

Juliet also takes care of recruiting Mandy's young daughter Ella, blackmailing her with incriminating video footage to ensure her long-term cooperation.

Tony and Diane's marriage has hit the rocks thanks to Edward's scheming, which continues to gather pace in the coming weeks as he tries to nudge them into starting divorce proceedings.

The once rock-solid couple still clearly have feelings for each other, but has Edward driven a wedge between them for good?

11. Brody in danger

Last but not least, the new trailer also teases Brody being involved in a hit and run incident as he steps into the path of an oncoming car.

Will the popular villager be okay?
