It's not unusual for couples to meet "through mutual friends", but when their mutual friends happen to be A-Listers and Hollywood's elite, that's when exciting stories emerge. Here are 11 famous couples who were set up by their celebrity friends.

The Rock appeared alongside Priyanka in the remake of Baywatch in 2017, and then worked with Nick on Jumanji later that year. In July 2018, he joked with Entertainment Tonight that he was claiming credit for their romance.

“Are they happy?”, he asked, before adding, “Well then, I take credit. Baywatch and Jumanji. I did it, yes. If they’re happy.”

It's not clear how Courteney and Ed became friends, but when he was writing his 2014 album X, she let him stay at her Malibu beach house for free. He told The Sun, "There was no rent but I made the bed and cups of tea and things like that."

While he was there, his friend Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid came over to help with the album, and things escalated from there.

"We are certainly grateful to Ed for introducing us", Courteney told The Sun. "I can't imagine him not playing something at the wedding. It'll be a musical night."

Unfortunately, the pair, who got engaged after six months of dating, called off their wedding in December 2015, but rekindled things a few months later.

Ellie told The Sun she played cupid for pals Taylor and Calvin, commenting, "I did play matchmaker, that's true. Calvin is a really great mate and he's so fantastic, and Taylor is such a cool person who I love. I thought. ‘They're both really awesome and both really tall, they'll be brilliant together’.”

After Steinfield worked with Joe's band DNCE for their song 'Rock Bottom', Sophie got in touch and asked for his number.

"I mean, I will say, I did get that text from Sophie being like, 'So tell me about Joe,' and I was like, 'Go for it,'" Steinfeld recalled to Nova 96.9's Smallzy. “I actually just saw them both for the first time since they got engaged. And yeah, I'm like freaking out about it!"

Tristan revealed in a gushing Instagram caption that fellow basketball player Brandon Jennings was responsible for match-making him and Khloe, writing, "My love, Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey and entering your life that day at the bel air hotel. We've got Anne Hathaway to thank for this relationship, after Krasinski told Ellen DeGeneres in a 2011 interview, that it was love at first sight for him when they went on a blind date in 2008. “It was one of those things where I wasn’t really looking for a relationship,” Krasinski explained. “But I met her, and I was so nervous and I was like, ‘oh no I’m going to fall in love with her.’ I shook her hand and I went, ‘I like you.’”
