10 Hollyoaks spoilers from the show's new trailer
Hollyoaks has decided to finish off February by giving fans an exciting treat, releasing a special Leap Year trailer (yes, it's a thing) which teases the next few weeks' worth of storylines.
Liam Donovan, Mercedes McQueen, Sienna Blake and the village's troubled teens are among the characters taking centre stage in the new promo. And without further ado, here are 10 big new spoilers which have been revealed.
1. Liam targets his enemies
Hollyoaks' new trailer is very Liam-centric, showing his behaviour become increasingly erratic as he broods next to his Dartboard of Doom.
Mercedes McQueen, Maxine Minniver and James Nightingale are among those in his sights, as he vows to take revenge against all those who have wronged him and his family. However, it's not long before he has reasons for wanting Grace to suffer too — so much for family loyalty.
Liam organises a "devil's dinner party" at The Dog and invites all of his targets along, even kidnapping John Paul to force James into attending. Liam's intentions are sure to be as twisted as ever, so these episodes are definitely ones to watch out for.
2. Warren is arrested and put in prison
Liam's scheming could be made a little easier once Warren Fox is out of the way for a while. Warren is currently determined to show Liam who's boss, clearly not intimidated by the rival bad boy.
However, new footage shows Warren being dragged away by police officers and put in a prison cell after attacking Liam. Liam is delighted to have Warren out of the picture and wants to keep him locked up for as long as possible.
3. Mercedes finally discovers who shot her
Liam ensures that his dinner party goes off with a bang when he reveals to Mercedes that Grace and James were the ones who shot her at The Loft last autumn.
Grace, in particular, has tried everything she can to keep this dark secret under wraps. How will she feel when the truth comes out – and what will Mercedes make of the game-changing revelation?
4. Felix Westwood comes to the village
Hollyoaks' new trailer also provides our first look at former EastEnders star Richard Blackwood in the role of Felix Westwood, the father of Mitchell and Toby. Felix's arrival is slightly ominous, as Martine warns Mitchell: "Once you know the truth about your father, there's no turning back."
Felix arrives in the village wanting to make things right, surprising Mitchell and leaving Walter unsettled. His appearance is also bound to make an impact on Toby and Celeste, who are continuing to scheme behind closed doors.
5. Tony discovers who Diane slept with
Friday's E4 first look episode (February 28) sees Diane finally come clean to Tony about how she slept with another man while he was trapped on Breda's pig farm.
The trailer takes us a step further in the storyline, showing that Tony will later publicly find out that Edward – his own father – was Diane's mystery man. That's sure to go down well.
Meanwhile, Edward can be seen confiding in his daughter Verity about his masterplan to steal Diane away from Tony. He's clearly not giving up.
6. Jordan turns nasty with Juliet
Jordan's 'nice guy' act is well and truly over in the coming weeks. The dangerous newcomer has put on a show of charm and friendliness in front of the impressionable teen villagers, but he becomes more sinister around Juliet when she starts to ignore his instructions.
Jordan is determined to keep Juliet on board with dealing his drugs, warning that he now owns her. Sid is horrified when he sees how his criminal cousin is treating Juliet, but will he be powerless to stop it?
7. James tries to help Juliet
Part of Juliet's instructions from Jordan will be to start dealing drugs at other schools, rather than just Hollyoaks High. However, the situation turns sour for her when she gets caught and is arrested by the police.
Having a hotshot lawyer for a brother proves useful to Juliet as James tries to come to her rescue, but is she already in too deep?
8. Liberty loves Brody
Liberty confirms the inevitable in upcoming episodes, as her close and cosy friendship with Brody starts to arouse suspicion. Damon is among those questioning Liberty and Brody over the nature of their relationship, sensing that it has developed into something more in Sienna's absence.
Finally, Liberty admits that she does love Brody. (Team Digital Spy is still holding out for Liberty and Damon, though.)
9. Sienna returns to the village
After weeks in hiding, Sienna looks set to return out of the blue – much to the shock of Liberty and Brody.
Sienna pointedly remarks on how she may be interrupting something as she marches back into the flat with Sophie. Has Sienna returned to claim back what's hers?
10. Kyle realises Darren is depressed
Darren's depression storyline continues as he airs his real feelings to an empty room, during a comedy event at The Hutch that nobody has turned up for. Darren is far from his usual self, describing himself as useless and a burden on society.
Mandy is starting to worry about Darren, noting that he keeps coming up with non-specific illnesses to explain his no-shows and strange moods. Kyle points out to Darren that he may be struggling with depression, but will he get the help he needs?
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
