Lifetime released all four episodes of its gripping new docuseries The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson over the weekend and each episode brought shocking, heartbreaking revelations from the victim's friends and family.

The series charts the tumultuous relationship between O.J. Simpson and girlfriend-turned-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, which Nicole's friends and family said included domestic violence and sexual abuse from the very start.

O.J. was accused and eventually acquitted of the brutal stabbing murders of Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman outside Nicole’s Brentwood, Los Angeles, home on June 12, 1994. However, in 1997, he was found liable for the killings after a civil suit brought by the victims’ families and ordered to pay $33 million.

In the new docuseries, friends and family describe the difficult circumstances surrounding Nicole's short life and brutal death at 35, and say they know exactly who was responsible. "He f--ked up our whole family," Denise says of O.J.

Here are 10 bombshells from the new docu-series:

O.J. Simpson Once 'Struck' Ex-Wife Marguerite and 'Pulled Out Some of Her Hair'

Prior to meeting Nicole Brown, Simpson was married to Marguerite Whitley, with whom he shared three children. The pair divorced in 1979, and in the docuseries a now-retired Los Angeles police officer recalls responding to a report of domestic violence at the couple's home in the 1970s.

“We were met at the door by a woman,” says Terry Shauer, who arrived at the home with another officer. “She had got into an argument with her husband and during the course of the argument he became violent with her, struck her, and as I recall, pulled out some of her hair. My memory is that there was a clump of hair on the floor in the entryway of the home.”

Shauer adds, “She declined to report and wouldn’t sign a report. She said ‘My husband’s O.J. Simpson, the football player.’ She identified herself as Marguerite Simpson.”

O.J. ‘Ripped’ Nicole Brown Simpson’s Pants, ‘Got a Little Forceful’ on Their 1st Date: Friends

Nicole met O.J. in 1977 when she was 18 and working as a hostess at a Los Angeles restaurant. At the time, O.J. was still married to Whitley, but reportedly began courting Nicole immediately.

In the first episode of the docuseries, a friend of Nicole’s recalls noticing something off about Nicole’s pants after her first date with O.J., then 30.

“When she came home, her pants were ripped… zipper was ripped,” says D’Anne Purcilly, whose then-husband David LeBon allowed Nicole to stay with him while she was living in Los Angeles. “And they were jeans. And David’s like ‘You can’t just rip jeans like a linen something.’”

Lebon says in the docuseries that he then questioned Nicole about what had happened. “I said ‘Nicole what happened to you?’ She said ‘He got a little forcible.’ And I said ‘Why would you let him do that to you?'"

Nicole Brown Simpson Claimed O.J. Called Her a ‘Fat Pig’ When She Got Pregnant, Private Diary Reveals

Denise Brown, one Nicole’s three sisters, says that Nicole’s first pregnancy with daughter Sydney in 1985 was difficult because O.J. “was not nice to her when she was pregnant.”

“He would always say ‘You’ve got such a fat a--. Why don’t you go on a diet?’ She was pregnant. She was pregnant when he would tell her that,” Denise recalls. A screenshot of Nicole's diary is then shown, with an entry highlighting the words “you're a fat pig.”

Additionally, D'Anne Purcilly, a Brown family friend, claimed O.J. did not want Nicole to deliver vaginally or breastfeed. “She said he wanted her to keep the same body she had.” Purcilly later adds, “You can see that that was some control things that he did with her.”

Nicole Brown Simpson Once Said ‘I Know for a Fact’ O.J. Is ‘Going to Murder Me One Day,’ LAPD Cop Claims

After filing for divorce from O.J. in 1992, Nicole experienced a brief moment of excitement and independence, including dating and living on her own with their two children, Sydney and Justin. According to her family and friends, O.J. was jealous of her relationships with other men and stalked her, sometimes hiding in bushes outside her house.

Nicole called 911 one evening after O.J. confronted her after seeing her and the man she was dating at the time kissing on the couch through a large window of her home, Nicole’s friend, Robin Greer, claims in the episode.

“She told me there had been ongoing problems and then she said ‘I know for a fact he’s going to murder me one day,'” recalls retired Los Angeles police officer Spencer Marks, who responded to the scene.

Marks continues, “That sort of took me by surprise. If you know he’s going to murder you one day then how do we prevent that? We need to keep you away from him. She sort of 'poo-pooed' it and said ‘Well, you know, we’re trying to work on things. So, you know, it’s what we have to do.’”

Nicole Brown Simpson’s Friend Reveals Her Fear of Being ‘Slashed by a Knife’ That Eerily Mirrored Her Murder

"He had a knife collection, I don’t know if people know that, he was very good with knives," Purcilly explains of O.J., who she says was very proud of a ceremonial sword he owned, among other knives.

Purcilly adds that once, "Nicole said at dinner that she had fears of being attacked from behind and slashed by a knife."

Moreover, says Purcilly in the docuseries, "She said whenever we had these big fights, he would say to her 'I am going to chop you up in little pieces and bury you up on Mulholland and nobody will know where you are, not even your children.'"

Nicole Enlisted the Help of a Friend to Tell O.J. She Was Leaving Him

Robin Greer was a real estate agent and close friend of Nicole's who says she was there when she first told O.J. she was leaving him.

"Nicole called me and asked me to go to lunch, and that’s when she told me that she was going to leave OJ," says Greer. Nicole continued, "'I need to get away, I need to get out of the house and I want you to tell him.'"

Given that Greer was in real estate, she says Nicole "wanted me to find her a lease and she wanted me to tell O.J. that she wanted out of the house. I sat down with her and O.J. and said, 'I’m going to be looking for a house for Nicole and the kids, and he said 'That’s not right, That’s not right for the kids.' She said, 'O.J. I’m doing it.' She stood firm."

At Nicole's Funeral, Her Mom Juditha "Dita" Brown Asked O.J. if He'd Killed Her

The Brown sisters as well as family friends share that O.J. had a close relationship with Nicole's parents Juditha and Louis Brown. They say that often when the pair got into an argument, O.J. would be the first to reach out to the elder Brown's. "He felt like he could call her anytime and he would," Denise Brown says of O.J. and her mom.

"He got into the car with Dita so I got in too," Purcilly says in the docuseries. "Dita turned to him at one point and said 'Did you do this?' and he just looked down and said 'Dita, I loved her. I loved her too much.' I was like, 'He is going to say he did this'. But he didn’t, he just said he just loved her too much."

After searching O.J.'s belongings, Lang says officers found keys to Nicole's property. "I think that there may be a possibility that these may be the keys that Nicole has complained that she was missing," Lang says of his initial suspicion.

Once it was proven they were in fact keys to Nicole's home, officers felt they had a key piece of evidence. "We know that Simpson took those keys from the house prior to the murders," Lang says. But, he adds, "Those keys were never brought in as evidence."

Nicole and O.J.'s Children Had Hard Experiences Under O.J.'s Care

Nicole's sisters recently told PEOPLE that only by watching the documentary series did they learn about the difficulties Sydney and Justin have faced while living with O.J.

“We found out a lot of things went down in Florida," Dominique says of where O.J. relocated with Sydney and Justin. "911 calls with the kids saying, ‘Daddy, stop,’ their house getting raided, just chaos,” she says.
