1 dead after single vehicle crash south of Ottawa

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal single-car collision in North Dundas early Saturday morning.

The driver, a 66-year old man from Edwardsburgh-Cardinal Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Some time overnight, on Spruce Drive between Ormond Road and Marionville Road, a pick-up truck left the roadway and struck a tree, according to an OPP news release.

OPP and other first responders were called to the scene, about 40 minutes south of Ottawa, around 6:30 a.m.

The driver was alone in the vehicle.

Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP is investigating with assistance from the OPP Technical Collision Investigation Team and a Collision Reconstructionist.
