Mark Chao: If Vic is not filming Black & White movie, I won't film it

Taiwanese newbie actor Mark Chao recently took home the Best Actor award at the Taiwanese Golden Bell awards for his role in the police drama series Black & White, amidst raging controversies.

First, there were the rumours that the results were leaked before the start of the ceremony. That escalated talk that he and his Black & White co-star Vic Zhou, who was also a Best Actor nominee didn't get along off-the-set, which led to speculation that he is refusing to star in the film sequel to the hit serial.

Another wave of rumours was sparked off later regarding his relationship with his father, Chao Shu Hai. When the older Chao was not seen at various events for a coffee brand he endorsed with Mark, tongues started wagging that the father-son pair were estranged and suffered a souring relationship with each other.

At an event two days ago, 25-year-old Mark refuted such rumours. "The reason why I am the only one appearing at events is because I am the brand ambassador, whereas [my father] is only a figurehead."

On Vic's possible non-participation in the movie sequel Black & White, Mark said, "If Vic is not filming it. I won't film it."

28-year-old Vic recently did an interview with GQ magazine and compared the acting capabilities between newbie actors and veterans. "Speaking of acting, young actors try their best to figure things out. But they are unable to reach the level of understanding and experience attained by veterans who can easily ease into their characters anytime"
