The 30-share BSE index ended down 0.01 percent at 16,356.03 points and the 50-share NSE index ended up 0.36 percent at 4,899.70 points. Shares erased early losses and closed largely flat, as automakers cheered with robust sales numbers for January even as weak global markets weighed. [BO]

Yield on the 10-year benchmark bond ended at 7.63 percent, from Friday's close of 7.59, after the central bank governor said bond yields will be pressured if the government borrows more than the central bank expects in fiscal year 2010/11. [ID:nBMA006912] [IN/]

The rupee ended at 46.37/38 per dollar, off an early low of 46.44, as the stockmarket pulled back from an early slide and the dollar eased against major currencies overseas. It ended at 46.16/17 on Friday. [INR/]

The benchmark five-year interest rate swap ended at 6.88/92 percent, from Friday's close of 6.87/90. [IN-SWAPS]
