TOKYO, Nov 6 - The benchmark Nikkei average <.N225> rose 1 percent and the broader Topix <.TOPX> gained 0.1 percent on Friday.

The following stocks were on the move: **CHUO MITSUI TRUST <8309.T> DOWN AFTER MERGER TALKS NEWS**

Chuo Mitsui Trust Holdings Inc fell 2.5 percent to 312 yen after the trust bank and Sumitomo Trust and Banking <8403.T> said they were in talks to merge. [ID:nT212956]

Shares of Sumitomo Trust dropped 0.4 percent to 478 yen.

Pioneer Corp advanced 7.5 percent to 243 yen after UBS upgraded the consumer electronics company to "neutral" from "sell" after it said on Thursday that it needs to raise less funds than previously planned.

Asahi Glass Co Ltd jumped 6.9 percent to 818 yen after lifting its full-year operating profit forecast by 80 percent, citing bigger-than-expected shipments of its glass substrates used for flat panel displays.
