POLICE TO GO "ALL-OUT" FOR UNRULY KELANTAN FOOTBALL FANS

KOTA BAHARU, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- Kelantan police are to go "all-out" to trace the state's unruly football fans who caused a ruckus during the Malaysia Cup football final between Kelantan and Negeri Sembilan at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, on Nov 7.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Abd Rahim Hanafi said he had been contacted by Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman on the matter.

Muhammad had said that police were establishing the identity of the fans from the recording of the closed circuit television cameras at the stadium.

Abd Rahim spoke to reporters after the presentation of appointment certificates to honorary officers of the Universiti Malaysia Kelantan undergraduates police volunteer corps at the Kelantan police headquarters, here.

Unruly Kelantan fans set off fire crackers, hurled bottles and torched several stadium seats during the match which Kelantan lost 1-3.

He said their appointment was similar to the appointment of the police volunteer corps (PVR).
