RINGGIT OPENS HIGHER AGAINST US DOLLAR

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- The ringgit opened slightly lower against the US dollar prompted by mild technical correction following recent gains. At 9.05am, the ringgit stood at 3.3810/3850 against the greenback from yesterday's close of 3.3740/3780. However, dealers said the underlying sentiment of the ringgit remained strong against the backdrop of an improving domestic economy. Against other major currencies, it depreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.4380/4423 from 2.4352/4408 yesterday and dipped slighty against the Japanese yen to 3.8040/8102 from 3.7902/7972 previously. Against the British pound, the ringgit declined to 5.6027/6113 from 5.5931/5014 yesterday and was easier against the euro at 5.0553/0626 from 5.0519/0589 on Monday.
