SHARE PRICES OPEN MIXED IN EARLY TRADING

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were mixed in early trading today following the downtrend in the US market on Friday, said dealers.

At 9.38am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (FBM KLCI) gained 0.28 of a point to 1,274.64 after opening 0.7 of a point lower at 1,273.66. The FBM Emas Index fell 1.06 points to 8,503.08, the FBM Top 100 declined 0.26 of a point to 8,310.44 and the FBM 70 slipped 8.62 points to 8,228.7. The FBM ACE dropped 35.97 points to 4,400.65 while the Industrial Index rose 0.72 of a point to 2,686.58, the Plantation Index eased 15.87 points to 6,204.68 and the Finance Index increased 6.83 points to 11,011.97. Losers led gainers by 128 to 112 while 136 counters were unchanged and 900 others untraded. A total of 120.349 million shares worth RM81.795 million were transacted. Actives included TA Global and Scomi-LR which were flat at 50 sen and two sen each.

Meanwhile, TA Global-ICPS slipped 7.5 sen to 42.5 sen, Affin Holdings gained two sen to 30.5 sen and Salcon rose one sen to 65 sen.

Heavyweights, Sime Darby and CIMB remained untraded at RM8.95 and RM13.00, respectively.

Maybank went up two sen to RM6.97 while Maxis and Tenaga gained one sen each to RM5.38 and RM8.45.

IOI Corp dropped one sen to RM5.54 and Genting fell three sen to RM7.09.
