HEADLESS BODY FOUND IN PANTAI MERCHANG

KUALA TERENGGANU, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- A decomposing, headless body was found on a beach in the vicinity of the Kampung Merchang jetty in Marang near here today.

Villagers made the gruesome discovery about 1.30pm and alerted the authorities.

Marang police chief DSP Ahmad Mazlan Yahaya said the sex of the victim could not be determined due to the advanced state of decomposition.

He believed the body, whose back was tattooed with Myanmar words, was afloat at sea over the past few days before it was washed ashore.

The body was taken to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for post-mortem.
