SHAH ALAM, July 3 (Bernama) -- The Selangor Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) will organise durian eating campaign in schools in the state to attract interest among students to the King of Fruit.
Fama Selangor director Rohizad Ridzwan said the programme would start off in schools around Tanjong Karang, near here, and would later cover other schools throughout the state.
"We want to encourage the young to eat local fruits especially durian. Nowadays, not many of them are interested in the fruit anymore," he told reporters after launching the sale of seasonal fruits at the Selangor State Development Corporation here today.
He said, those who were interested to organise durian eating campaign could contact the organiser at the PKNS Complex here between 10am and 10pm daily and till midnight on weekends.
He said apart from durian, Fama was also selling other local fruits.
